A TOTAL of 65 shutterbugs were awarded over the weekend at the 2017 Shanghai Open University Street Snap Competition for the street style they captured during the Shanghai Fashion Week.

One of the two first prize winners was deaf-mute Zhu Dechun. He wrote on his smart phone during the award ceremony that he was exited to share the beautiful moments with others.

The event was expected to encourage fashionable creativity among citizens and inspire them to explore fashion with cameras.

“We hope citizens have fun in the completion and improve their fashion taste, which is important for Shanghai in building itself into a capital of brands, design and fashion,” said Wang Lianhua, deputy party chief of the Shanghai Open University.

Based on one of its campus known as the Shanghai International Fashion Education Center, the university established its College of Fashion over the weekend.

Lv Wenjun, dean of the new college, said it will focus on non-diploma training.
